The rally is developers and 'end users', Open standard consumers. The route is ours (SUNW and the broader community). I'm betting within a short time, the Sun JVM comes standard on RedHat and Debian and those two Sparc Linux distros are available standard on the developer workstations next to Solaris OE 8. Anybody know where nix AOL 5 is? You know I watch this Sun<->Linux dynamic closely and have for two years. Theres a whole other brand of Linux boosting going on suddenly. Things may seem a little disjointed on the consumer marketing side, but it's being made up for greatly on the geek mindshare side. At this stage of the game, that's the scoreboard. -JCJ
