So far, the most I'll concede is ``takeoff". That's usually applied to nice gentle inclines like those you experience in First Class on a Boeing 747-400.

Liftoff is generally applied to rockets that take off more or less vertically by virtue of the fact that they're sitting on top of a barely controlled explosion. At least that's the case with the solid fuel versions :-)

I'm still waiting for the Atlas 5 boosters to kick in. Not to worry, if that happens, you'll feel it :-) But things do look promising and I may have to start stockpiling single malt. Just in case :-)
