Burt,>>>There has been a suspicion that Dan has some "useful" sources because his numeric predictions for Intel (those he produces near the announcement dates) are so accurate that they are "too" good. His numbers are trustworthy although his judgements are often off the wall. So if Dan has upgraded Intel at this instant, the numbers are probably quite good. <<<

I agree, Dan Niles numeric predictions are very accurate. Somewhere I read this morning, he is calling for Intel to meet earnings and revenue estimates. (He is not calling for beating of estimates). $8B and .63 are terrific numbers and do not have to be exceeded for knockout earnings report.

He also cited good prospects 1) rebounding from y2k problems, 2) Msft release of Y2k OS and Software, and 3)good prospects for sales in the server market.

Intel fundamentals cannot be any better.

But, can Intel management leverage the great fundamentals and create significantly greater value for shareholders?

On that, I have good confidence that Intel financial management will find some way to snatch PR defeat out of the jowls of victory <gggg>.

Mary
