I did not mean to single you out but I was posting to the thread as a whole including you.

Well, I know your views on stock promotion by CEO's. They are arguable views.

I suspect that DELL has sold out of it's WebPcs. GTW has a similar product and claims that it was 20% of unit sales last quarter. DELL has promoted the product. I suspect they sold between 100 and 200 K units. This could be a nice kicker for the quarter or it may simply offset the slower corporate sales (Y2K). So clearly there is a market for these new PC's. They are also profitable with good margins.

I think that DELL is in disfavor generally not because of its execution but because of the super interest in internet and internet backbone theme companies. Mullinex has discussed this.

My VRIO is up strongly today and there are no real fundamentals driving this internet play. If you can't lick them then might well make a profit anyway.
