Re my***card.com Domain Names

Back in April 1999 I wrote; "IMO TSIG are registering dozens of names in order to protect their my***card.com branding. This does not imply that the deals have been concluded, but is a good pointer as to who they would like to do business with."

At that time I recall that there were many dozens of domain names registered in this format. However, today I can only find two that are definitely owned by TSIG; mymusiccard.com and myphotocard.com.

My suspicion is that all of the other names originally registered by TSIG were transferred to a nominee third party, Network Admin at PO Box 53061, San Jose, CA 95153, as this organisation has many of the generic names that I believe were once 'owned' by TSIG (e.g. mycharitycard.com).

A good web site for checking these domain names is

www.domainsurfer.com

Do a search on '^my' (the ^ signifies that my is at the start of the domain name) and then refine the search by entering 'card'. Click on the 'WHOIS' for details of the registered owner. You will be surprised at how many domain names have been registered in this format, many of them by the organisation at the address above.
