Not at all, just reporting the statement made. This is one of the few cases I've run across where Pd has been mentioned in a monetary context. The same Kitco poster has alluded to the BIS holding some Pd among other precious metals in its "basket". Be interesting if someone can confirm this.

The simplest explanation for the US selling down its strategic palladium reserves is that there is now a large, domestic producer in the form of Stillwater Mining. However, while the simplest explanations are the best place to start, in the end sometimes more complicated ones more fully approximate the truth.

I doubt that the BIS is acting to hold gold down as has been alleged for the US Federal Reserve.
