While certainly not the norm, for a large enough position it would not be surprising. In this case, however, I think you may be a little confused. Based on TR's current proxy, there does not appear to be a rep of AXP or IDS Life on their board. Perhaps you got that impression from the proxy's disclosure of stock held by insiders and 5% or more outsiders? By the way, AXP's 1/31/97 13-G shows they have cut their holding to 956K shares from 1250, which equals 4.2%, not 10%. -JLF
