My take on edig...
Not sure what I think about these guys. I looked around their web page, and they seem to be focused on storage management for compact flash (CF) memory cards and digital recording (voice and music). I suppose these guys could be player for MP3 players and digital dictation devices; a market I don't really understand. MP3 - a format that is argueably worse than CD - seems to be a step in the wrong direction. After all, we have DVD over VHS, HDTV over NTSC, but MP3 over CD?

But I digress. I understand the portability and the convenience. And I understand that pervasive devices are expected to rule in the near future. They will outnumber desktops by far. If those devices have voice and music functions, and if EDIG captures that market, they could be huge. But the only real alliances I see are with IBM and Lucent. Where's 3COM, HandSpring, and Microsoft (with WinCE)? (I leave out Intel b/c Intel is not yet a player in the pervasive market.)

I sure do wish I'd bought some at 1/16 though. :-)
