" someone I've put on ignore." I have hardly used the ignore thing at all, but at one point there was a person named Linda Kaplan who kept sending me personal messages. The first one was something like "you seem fascinated with me so why don't we exchange personal messages. " I replied that I was not fascinated and that I did not wish to receive personal messages from her. Her messages then became wildly abusive and insulting and SR would not cut her off. She denied me permission to publish her messages publicly, so I did not. Later it turned out that she was drawing men into controversy with her, learning their real identity and addresses, and then calling up her local NYC precinct police station and reporting that she was being harrassed by them and giving the police their names and addresses. One of these men was then resident in the state of Mississippi. She seems to have disappeared from SI. That is one case where the ignore thing would have been a blessed relief. Maybe this crazy market is responsible for that kind of thing.
