Mary - Re: 'How come he gets it right and the CFO's haven't a clue?"

Maybe because Niles is making his call 10 days AFTER the quarter has ended and most likely AFTER Intel has made a Revision 1 estimate of their quarterly earnings roll up - and some mole leaked it to him.

The much aligned CFO, Andy Bryant, had a slight handicap - having had to make his "estimate" only two weeks IN TO THE QUARTER - with 11 weeks remaining, 11 weeks in which crystal ball could only provide an "estimate" of what was GOING TO HAPPEN during the ensuing 11 weeks.

In other words, Niles can easily predict the PAST - once it is "revealed" to him - but CFO Bryant was trying to predict THE FUTURE.
