Did anyone watch A&E's "The Crossing" tonight? About Washington at the battle of Trenton. Not bad but a scene near the end ruined it for me.

The Hussein General was dying and Washington's generals were urging him to pay his respects. Washington didn't want to. He said he didn't want to honor a man who kills for profit.

One of his Generals says

"Our own cause, at it's heart, is a fight against British taxation is it not? In the end sir, we all kill for profit. The British, the Hessiens, and us."

Washington's shoulders droop a bit, and his eyes cast downward.

End of scene.

Suppose there were nihilistic bastards like the writers of this junk then too. They all were driven into Canada.
