Sure.....you have IBM, Veridicom, Sony, NEC, Motorola, and a bunch of little tiny guys.
IDX is by far the biggest of the pure plays.
The little tiny guys have ugly charts, going way back...and no decent broker would put a client into one of them...IMO.
The biometric industry has been one year away from exploding for at least the last 4 years. But of course....this will, in fact, be the year. <g>
So you have IDX that has done little, price wise, but the volume has gone from 20k per day to 200k+....with institutions buying. So you say..."what's with that?"
Then you have a Swiss telecom company that has 4 million shares...but has been selling 3 or 4k per day for what seems like forever....and you say "what's with that?"
Then you have a new CEO coming in March.....and the old CEO, who built IDX being on many people's "S" list.....because the market has yet to explode....even though IDX has outperformed any other biometric stock in spades...."what's with that?"
And of course you also have a bundle of IDX partnerships....begining with Motorola....and includes Cherry, Compaq, NEC, Siemens....and a bunch of others....and you say..."what's with that?"
So.....you have an interesting stock.....that many feel will head North...as the biometric industry takes off. You have very active SI and Yahoo threads.
For me, Jack....Just pull a chart on VRSN......I think IDX is in the same business....just a year or two behind.
I would look for a pull back...but also watch the wires.....as there may be some stuff coming that will make a pull-back....ah....not happen. The more attention that biometrics gets...the better it is for IDX.
IDX only has 3 analysts......so any additional exposure for IDX could bring more......and the more we hang out with Motorola.....the better the odds of that happening.
There is a mythical secret organization called the Commission......and David is really smart. steve digs up all kinds of stuff.....and Rob sells calls. I hype the stock......and Lorretta is really a guy.
