PC game firms place more emphasis on online market

­­As part of their strategy to diversify their business, PC game developers and
distributors are placing more emphasis on the online game market.
­­
­­FEW plans to begin online pilot service for its new online game, Dragon Raja,
next week and commercial service in March. FEW is planning three new online
games to be developed by its 30-member staff. Meanwhile, company plans to
change its name to 'Enterzine'.
­­
­­Wizard Soft will pour more than 50 percent of its new product investment into
online games this year. It will link its pilot game service to SK Group's Internet
portal site.

­­Wielding an investment of 25.5 million dollars, Samsung Electronics will
concentrate on the development of games through alliances with other online
game firms and start-ups at its Internet incubators.
­­
­­Wise Hicom, a PC game firm and distributor that employs about 30
developers, is planning to create new online games and Internet content. Wise
will initially convert its popular role playing game for Internet access in the third
quarter.

­­Softmax is recruiting specialists to develop online games, and Trigger Soft will
develop online games in the latter half of the year, while several other companies
are seeking to import online games.
