Ray:

Following is why people are coming down hard on "charred". I quote from his post #3867:

<<< One thing everybody does have is electricity. The company who has the power plant is called Luz del Sur. Manhattan will have to buy them out for them to leave. Why, because maybe part of the mine plan includes power for the town. But Luz del Sur won't leave quietly. It will cost as well. Again Luz del Sur has more pull then MAN. What does it cost to supply power for 15,000 people and repay Luz del Sur for the lost revenues. >>>

Now, I'll admit that I don't have intimate knowledge of South American business customs to the extent "charred" implies that he does. However his statement above is on the surface completely ludicrous. I'll listen if he chooses to explain it further, but it caused me to completely write him off as a basher of no substance and I don't he can recover from this.

Let's take the premise that this company owns a power plant and makes money by selling electricity to the city. Obviously, if MAN relocated the town, they would potentially have to relocate the power grid. However, it seems far fetched that MAN would get into the Electricity business. This company should be champing at the bit for MAN to hook into their electric supply as well as profiting from the citizens upgraded electrical needs due to their increasing standard of living from proximity and association with this project.

I can't envision under the wildest circumstances how MAN would have to buy out this company and "repay" them for lost revenues.

Charred is just Elizabeth Andrews in a crispy crust without even the substance that she feigned bringing to the table.

Regards,
Andrew
