I too am very sad to loose Verifone to a monster as I think over the next year
or two we could have beat 48. I closed out half my long position today and am
thinking about dumping the rest. I am intested in your reasoning for holding
onto the stock.I see a lot on the downside - if HP earnings are not up to
scratch (they are coming off a high last quarter which will be hard to beat). HP
are one of those companies like Motorola that I find too complicated to value
given their diversified business. Given my quick analysis 50 is probably a fair
price for HP so no major upside.Further if complications with the merger arise,
which seem doubtfull, we could have another Intuit on our hands - in which case
I would be more than happy to get back in on one of my favourite companies.
With the carnage in tech stock I can see some better investments than HP on the
radar.Any insight into what upside you see in your long position would be
interesting.taajd
