did I say 42°?

LOL, only played 5 holes 1,2,3,4, and 18. Sustained winds of 30+ mph. coming in off a cold lake Erie(I live in Pa.). On the second hole, I'm walking down hill with my chuck Taylor's on* thinking I'm gonna slip before I go home. Right then, pulled the carpet out from under me, and I go sliding on one knee for about 30 feet before getting my footing back.

I did hit the ball pretty good though, nice drives anyhow. Almost pared #3, par 3 but didn't!

So I teed off #4(cracked the casing off a crappy Pinicle-the insides are pinkish purple) reloaded and got off a nice one. As I'm walking to my ball I start niticing these white things coming accross the way. Yeah, I never seen it snow at 42° either. So I'm figuring it's 30, wind chill maybe 20 or less. By the time I get to the green on the stuff is sticking on the grass, but not heavy yet. Though I opted for skipping over to 18 and be done with it. Before I finished the hole, major snow squawls and it ain't getting any prettier out there right now snow coming and going, but starting to stick. I got the heat cranked to 90 in here right now.

My fingers are still tingling, but the blood has finally. returned to their tips.

All in all, the Golf Gods would have been proud of me!!

*The Chuck Taylor story. I bought a new pair of DryJoys about 6 or so years back(metal spikes still), the way I usually play golg<g> the tips of the shoes are all narled from um, lots of stumbling. Late this past summer, the right one comes unglued from the sole in the front, so as any resourceful person would do, I got some duct tape from my truck and did a two turn wrap around(previousely had replaces steal with soft spikes). But somewhere around one of the last rounds I played this year I somehow walked out of it(I rarely tie them) and musta' not noticed(honest). The next day we went to the same place to play a round, and there is only one shoe in the bed of my pick up. I figure someone is messing with me so I say the heck with it instead of buying somne at the pro shop I played in my All Stars.

But I did ask the gal behind the counter if anyone returned a shoe. She roared out a belly full of laughter. "Was that yours?" LOL. one of the crew found it in the middle of #9 fairway(we'd played 27 that particular day and finished it off on the front nine), since it was a little beat up and there was duct tape on it, she said he just picked it up with a stick and threw it in the trash. So Now I need a new pair of shoes.

Sorry to bore ya'll with that story, it just seems too comical not to share.
