BVSN is the leader when you are building a transaction platform specifically.

Lots of customers however have needs where VIGN fits in better.

Merrill Lynch chose Vignette because they are trying to make a dynamic site for its clients to research, investigate and learn about Merrill products/services. They want to attract and retain eyeballs so it is not just about doing transactions for Joe Schmo or Davis Doerr.

Broadvision is the choice when transactions are the focal point. Vignette is the choice when the focal point is managing content. They are different. They both have huge oppotunities.

Let's contact SI about changing the name of this threat to 'Broadvision: We wish we were Vignette'
