[DBAB Bo Fifer raises WCII 12-month price target to $94]

NEW YORK, Jan 11 (Reuters) - Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown said analyst Bo Fifer on Tuesday raised the 12-month price target on telecommunications equipment maker WinStar Communications Inc. to $94 from $81.

-- On Monday WinStar said it signed a deal to invest $50 million in data management services company WAM!Net Inc., with an option to invest up to an additional $50 million; WAM!Net agreed to buy $250 million worth of services from WinStar over the next 20 years.

-- "We believe this deal highlights the extreme potential for WinStar (and other wireless carriers) to provide high speed access to businesses. We believe private network applications will become an increasingly significant part of WinStar's data revenue stream and expect similar deals to be announced going forward."

-- maintained strong buy rating in WinStar.

-- said that even though the company has advised of revenue expectations of $650 million in 2000, "We are even more comfortable with our estimate of $700 million and continue to expect a series of upgraded estimates from the Street moving forward."
