heheh, no trips to Maui, way too long
a trip for the eight months pregnant wife.

When I was sopping up Ariad late last summer
it was because I knew just the genomics center
was worth at least a buck a share cash, we all
know that--with Ariad under a buck it was a no
brainer. But of course I went on to learn that
harsh lesson about how stocks tend to keep falling
til you they shake you out. I thought, maybe Berger
wants to destroy Ariad, maybe he will keep laying
folks off til there is nothing left, maybe the toxic
takes it down to 1/4!--I panicked!

Anyway back then I'd thought if I ever made a certain
amount, say if Ariad leaped up, I'd buy a bond and
let the IRA cook the next 30 years, but I will
admit, this is extrememly entertaining when the
market goes your way. I don't see myself buying
that bond, hmmmm.

Well, needless to say, I now have these core
positions which I'm attatched to--and they could
be very good long term holds, probably I'll get
plenty of chances to churn them too. Actually
my second largest position now is GZMO. Now for
all I know this one could get halved in the next
year, or it could rocket, no idea--but I do know
that if it hadn't been for churning the microcaps,
I'd never have got a chance to buy in at all.

All that said, I did raise the equivalent of a years
salary worth of cash today--biotech may become the
internets of 2000, but I'm not too greedy, and we
have Greenspan to worry about.

I suspect I'll find something to put that cash into,
but I'm going to be very cautious and do twice the "DD"
this next time I go nuts on one idea.
