First, what edge do you mean? Corporate or Internet? Yes, Nortel has some good products for enterprise router. But this market becomes more commodity and you have to consider that buying decision is often influenced by ISP. And ISP don't use Nortel that much. As for Internet, the only competitive router that Nortel has - Versalar 15000 has a lot of competition from former startups like Redstone, Torrent and Xedia. Without core router capable of OC48 access consentrator doesn't have that much of appeal to ISP/telco. I, personally, don't see Nortel as a player in Internet routing. I agree that they do have some good products for infrastructure.
