Yes, it has not gone smoothly for Gore so far....The president is a general, as it were. Generals need character and intelligence, but they also need the intimate acquaintance with the military, and with strategy, that they gain on the rise through the ranks.......Reagan had the experience, not only as governor, but beforehand, as a political activist and union leader, and as an officer in the military. That is one reason that he had the most politically successful administration since FDR.......
