I asked about this at comdex and was told the owner wanted 100K US for the site. Not in the current budget (and I agree with that.)

That's about the stupidest thing I've heard. I would expect Darran Evans to be a bit more penny smart rather than pound foolish on this issue.

What is he thinking?? That these guys are going to charge him LESS once MSU/Web2U finally gets its act together and receives some name recognition??

Give 'em the cash!!!!!.... it will save the company a ton of money later on when these guys start asking for stock, IN ADDITION TO CASH!!!.

I told a former MSU staffer (who I believe left last fall during the HSBC shakeup), that it should be a PRIORITY to capture that DNS. Especially if they were planning on changing the company name to Web2U. Using that hyphen is a half-@ssed measure.

To MSU executives: Call me arrogant, or just plain nasty, but I have told these guys (or anyone who has their ear) that they have to focus on the corporate and brand image.

I'm getting tired of hearing the kind of BS you just reported to me. They can spend 10's of thousands of dollars for investment bankers who don't do diddly-squat for the company's stock, but they can't even focus on monopolizing their brand name on the very medium in which they hope to empower millions, namely the internet??

When it comes time that they finally understand how important it is to control your website brand name, it will probably cost them twice as much.

Regards,

Ron
