“CHANGE TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS”

Edmonton, Alberta – New Blue Ribbon Resources Ltd. (NBL) (the “Company”) is
pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Anthony R.A. Lyons to its Board
of Directors. Mr. Lyons is an Australian National currently resident in the
United Kingdom. Mr. Lyons has been involved for many years in management of
European manufacturing and technology based companies. His experience has
been gained in the areas of Offshore Oil & Gas Exploration, land survey,
nuclear industry and steel industry. Mr. Lyons has an engineering
background with a degree in electronics receiving his education in both
Australia and the United Kingdom.

Mr. Lyons currently holds positions in Metal Process Control AB Sweden and
its subsidiary Metal Process Control GmbH Germany, in the capacity of
Chairman and Group President. He also holds the position of Chairman and
Managing Director of Metal Products & Equipment GmbH Germany, as well as
acts as the Managing Director of MPT Consultancy United Kingdom.

The Company is also pleased to announce that Mr. Michael C. Scholz has
agreed to join the Company's board of directors. Mr. Scholz is a senior
partner of the law firm of Alexander, Holburn, Beaudin & Lang in Vancouver,
British Columbia and brings to the Company his many years of
corporate/commercial/securities law experience. Mr. Scholz is a director of
Avcorp Industries Inc., a Toronto Stock Exchange listed company and
Secretary of stox.com Inc., a Canadian Venture Exchange company.

The Company is also pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Bob Ryziuk as
the Company's Manager of Operations. Mr. Ryziuk has been working in mineral
exploration since 1977. He has worked for various exploration companies
including Cominco Exploration, Discovery Consultants, Apex Geoscience and
most recently New Claymore Resources. Mr. Ryziuk brings a wealth of
computer and exploration experience to the Company. He has traveled
extensively and has worked in Western Canada, the Arctic, the United States,
Mexico and South America.

The Company further wishes to announce the resignation of Mr. Martyn Element
as a director of the Company. Mr. Element has been a director of the
Company since March 14, 1994 and has been an integral part of the Company's
past and current success. The Company is pleased to announce that Mr.
Element has agreed to stay with the Company in the capacity of Secretary
allowing the Company to continue to benefit from Mr. Element's past
experience and expertise.

In addition, the Company wishes to acknowledge and thank Mr. Element for his
efforts with the Company in his capacity as a director of the Company over
the past six years and thank him for his continuing efforts in his
appointment as Secretary.

The Company further announces that it has reserved 500,000 common shares for
the grant of incentive stock options to certain of its directors, officer
and employees for a period of two years at $0.35 per share, subject to
regulatory approval.
