chaz, have the volunteers picked the companies they want to research yet? If so, could you list them? I volunteered about a month ago here to research Global Crossing, and ended up being forced back into lurk mode in December doing Christmas and work duties instead. I'd still like to pick a company and present them to the group but would like an idea of what's been picked so far.

Global Crossing scared me off - I didn't know how to analyze their business using Gorilla Game criteria, since they've taken on such an ambitious strategy. In the brief and superficial look I did take, I liked the broad concept of providing customers with a complete point-to-point connectivity service using their own pipes and cables globally. It was just so broad that they have multiple competitors in different niches of their strategy, the ongoing capital required to pull it off is huge, they already have significant debt, and I didn't see a proprietary technology. I saw an ambitious company with a broad vision, I just didn't see anything compelling from a GG perspective.
