THE PREVIOUS RECORD for a single concert, as tabulated by industry magazine Pollstar, was $13.4 million grossed by the Three Tenors — Placido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti and Jose Carreras — at Giants Stadium in New York on July 20, 1996. Seats for Streisand's performance Dec. 31 went for between $1,500 and $2,500, with all 12,477 tickets sold out. That show and a second appearance Jan. 1 that was mostly for invited guests reportedly earned Streisand a guaranteed payday of $15 million. |
