Bob, The analysts seem to be consistent on their feelings that the company needs to be sold/mergered or something. Remember that these are the same analysts who have been burned in the past by believing what NN has told them. They have given up. Not withstanding this, they have also been told by NN that a sale was imminent before Xmas or new year. Remember the article talking about the analyst meeting at the Corel centre (I think)and the one-on-one meetings where one analyst was quoting as saying he knew some of the people coming out of the one-on-ones and buying big time. As a result of this I was surprised that none of the analysts were bitching once the new year came into being with no sale. What was even more remarkable was that our old friend Rob MacLellan was NOT doing his usual crapping on the company. The article today has MacLellan speaking quite civil about the company and the prospects for a sale or something. In the old days he would definitely be taking a shot at the company. So who knows, maybe something really is on the horizon. As Parhar says, probably just a partnership.
Whatever happened to the ultimate cheerleader...Tunica?
The signs of confidence come as takeover rumors gather steam, said Rob MacLellan, analyst at CT Securities in Toronto.
``I'm starting to hear more of it, especially today. I think that, combined with an upgrade, has helped,' he said of the stock gains.
``(There is) some chatter that I'm hearing, that the street's passing around, that something may be happening before they report on the 22nd of February,' he said. |
