Well there is a theory that if a stock gaps up it will come back and fill the gap. I am not a technician but have seen this happen time and again.

But mainly I see downsides for AMD based on Intels numbers:

1. one scenario is Intel will miss - if they do they will sink all boats for a while including AMD.

2. another scenario is they do great - and announce they are gonna get the high end marketshare - good for intel but likely whack AMD.

3. finally they can do great - and announce demand is great and sold out - with no major price cuts - good for intel and GREAT for AMD.

So my strategy will be to buy calls BEFORE intels earnings. If Intel causes AMD to dump I will double up at a lower price - if AMD rallys I may roll the call higher.
