You have been doing your homework :-} There are many who indeed believe that the Pope is the Anti-christ. Some then defer and say that "the office" is the Anti-christ. Some say it was Nero ONLY ( also Rome ) Some say the "wounded head" that was wounded unto death and healed is the transformation of ROME the anti-christ state into Rome the Anti-christ church ! See Rev 12. Revelation 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. You have found the area that many Christinas who live in our day have trouble with... I will tell you this... ROMAN CATHOLICISM is ANTI-CHRIST IF NOT "the" Preterists believe that Nero was the Anti-Christ.. I believe Nero was "an" Anti-Christ and He was the Abomination of Desolation... 1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
