Please find attached today's news release. For your added information we have attached two gold grain photos. These should be visible at the bottom of this message. You might want to check by scrolling down right now!! If your email program does not allow you to see images, check into our website tomorrow. The gold grains are abundant and spectacular. The ones shown below are samples of the larger grains, the largest being just over half a millimetre in size. These are not smooth and flattened placer grains, look at the fine textural features on the grains, they are primary hydrothermal grains that precipitated and grew into the regionally extensive target horizon gold introduced by moving mineralizing fluids from a nearby volcanic centre.

Activity Update
January 12, 2000 -- Marum Resources Inc. announces that the Company has received exchange approval to complete a private placement consisting of up to 2,000,000 units at a price of $0.10 per unit. Each unit will consist of one (1) common share and one (1) common share purchase warrant entitling the holder to acquire an additional common share of the Company for a two year period at a price of $0.10 per share. Up to 100% of the units will be designated as flow-through units. No commission or finders fee will be payable. Proceeds from the private placement, $200,000 if fully subscribed, will be used for exploration activities, primarily for a winter drilling program on the Chinchaga, Alberta project.
Drill permits have been received to drill two Chinchaga locations approximately eight Km apart on targets outlined by project consultant Apex Geoscience. Intensive surface sampling has established that the abundant gold particles found in stream sediments immediately downstream of the mineralized horizon do not generally survive surface leaching and mechanical weathering of the sulphide-rich volcaniclastic outcrops. Fire assay and bottle roll leach analyses generate either highly erratic or negative results. Higher gold values are generally found in fresher, more silicified rock samples. A drill program will be necessary to assess the gold content and mineral potential of this large gold-bearing system. The Chinchaga Gold program, initiated in August 1999 and now five months old, has conclusively established the presence of widespread and substantial gold mineralization in a horizontal rock unit of as yet undetermined thickness associated with a large regional fault zone. Depth to target in most holes will be ten to 20 metres. A large inventory of diamond samples is in storage and will be processed in due course.
Initial results from the Torngat project satellite image structural analysis program are positive. They outline structures similar to those known to be diamondiferous kimberlite dykes on nearby and adjacent Twin Gold properties. This program is a cooperative cost-sharing program that is managed by Marum on behalf of several property holders in the Torngat play.
