You're implying that electrical transmissions over copper wires travel at a slower speed. That would be wrong.

The reason the optical business is taking off is because they are shoving 80 different signals into a fiber using different frequencies of light. You can't do that with copper.

Perhaps if you understood that you'd still be in JDSU!
