Thread: Can there be any regulatory barriers to JDSU acquiring or merging with SDLI or ETEK? I don't see one because Nortel and Lucent are pretty big components makers. Lucent is number 1 or 2 with JDSU in many areas according to their CEO.
Just because JDSU/SDLI are pure plays does not mean they face hurdles to business combination. I had not looked at this angle earlier--one cannot just compare JDSU market position only in relation to other pure plays, IMHO.

Any comments?
