Another good article today from the Cape Breton Post:
Activity expected to increase at Sysco
following today's down payment of $1.5M
By Wes Stewart
The Sysco workforce can expect to see a lot of activity
from the new owners after today, the deadline for a $1.5
million downpayment, a spokesman for the new owners
said Tuesday.
Corus Consulting Ltd. (Hoogovens Technical Services)
spokesman Rick MacInnis said the partners have been
putting their ?financial ducks in a row.?
Corus, a part of an eight company U.S.-based consortium
which hammered out an interim agreement to buy the mill,
will continue to manage the plant in the interim.
Rail Associates, headed by president Myles Paisley,
Madison Heights, Mich., held a series of meetings last
week in Toronto to work out the details of a go forward
plan, said Economic Development Minister Gordon
Balser.
?I am confident the financing will be arranged (today),?
Balser said.
MacInnis said the partners have been preparing a strategy
and putting together the financial package.
?We will see a lot of activity after (today),? he promised.
?The most effort being done now is to get the financial
people in line and the business side straightened up.?
MacInnis also dispelled concerns that the deal might not
happen.
