With regards to what you said:
Yes, he makes himself out to be the shephard of the Christian church but as far as I know none of them have ever publicly said they were anything more than Christs servants.
It is interesting that in the three online versions of the Bible that i looked at, there is only one time in scripture that Holy Father used. That is John 17:11 wheh Jesus was praying to God. The Son praying to the Father.....and yet some on this earth call a man "holy father"?
One other thing. It is my understanding that in the New York catholic catchism under pope, this is recorded:
"The Pope takes the place of Jesus Christ on earth...by divine right the pope has supreme and full power in faith and morals over each and every pastor and his flock. He is the true Vicar of Christ, the head of the entire church, the father and teacher of all Christians He is the infallible ruler, the founder of dogmas, the author of and the judge of councils; the universal ruler of truth, the arbiter of the world, the supreme judge of heaven and earth, the judge of all, being judged by one, God himself on earth."
