Questions regarding (customer caused??) late deliveries can be viewed positively or negatively depending on perspective. Because of its stellar reputation in dealing with the "Who's Who" in offshore drilling, I think it more likely that Friede Goldman Halter, Inc. may ultimately prevail in the disputes; but, it leaves the stock vulnerable because of the DOUBT created. The new orders were expected (I had previously posted the likelihood of new business in the range of $100m to $200m to be announced in early January). I am happy to see the $199m (the extreme high side). This should put to rest some of the questions regarding backlog. I view the Dane resignations as a long term positive for the stock because of J.L. Holloway's well earned reputation since the possibility he may serve beyond the 2 year contract (from date of merger) is IMO enhanced by the resignation of his (formerly) designated successor. I haven't had time to digest all of this; but, will have further comment later. Last week, when asked the question: "Will the news release be viewed positively or negatively?" Mr Hastings replied: (It will be viewed in) "The eyes of the beholder!" The man is a master of understatement. >g< SargeK
