Good News and Not-so good news
biz.yahoo.com

The "NEWS" can be viewed a number of ways. Questions regarding (customer caused??) late deliveries can be viewed positively or negatively depending on perspective. Because of its stellar reputation in dealing with the "Who's Who" in offshore drilling, I think it more likely that Friede Goldman Halter, Inc. may ultimately prevail in the disputes; but, it leaves the stock vulnerable because of the DOUBT created.

The new orders were expected (I had previously posted the likelihood of new business in the range of $100m to $200m to be announced in early January). I am happy to see the $199m (the extreme high side). This should put to rest some of the questions regarding backlog.

I view the Dane resignations as a long term positive for the stock because of J.L. Holloway's well earned reputation since the possibility he may serve beyond the 2 year contract (from date of merger) is IMO enhanced by the resignation of his (formerly) designated successor.

I haven't had time to digest all of this; but, will have further comment later. Last week, when asked the question: "Will the news release be viewed positively or negatively?"
Mr Hastings replied: (It will be viewed in) "The eyes of the beholder!" The man is a master of understatement. >g<
