Import Prices for Dec = + 0.7%
Export Prices for Dec = + 0.1%

The U.S. Import Price Index increased 0.7 percent in
December, the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S.
Department of Labor reported today. The increase--the sixth
in a row--was attributable to ongoing increases in petroleum
prices. Prices for nonpetroleum imports were unchanged in
December. Export prices edged up 0.1 percent in December,
the same as in November.
