I used my Schwab 500 Research Line to obtain a company report for Procept. It showed that institutional owners hold 2,129,000 or 15.6% of the company (updated 1/31/97). Institutions include banks, insurance companies, pension plans, and other institutions.

Stocksmart showed the Top 50 Institutional Holders (as of 6/30/96) holding 49.73%. There were 17 institutions. From 6/30/96 to 1/31/97 there was more than a doubling of shares issued and outstanding. If the institutions held their shares and didn't add to their positions the percentage should have been in the low twenties. Since it is now 15.6% some must have been sellers.

Stocksmart showed five percent ownership (as of 6/30/96):

1. Aeneas Venture Corp. with 1,184,000 or 20.81%
2. Healthcare Ventures with 831,000 or 14.60%

The PRE 10K for 1997 shows:

1. Aeneas Venture Corp. with 1,184,393 or 8.6%
2. Healthcare Ventures with 831,325 or 6.0%

I called Procept today at (617) 491-1100 and spoke to a company spokeswoman (don't try Investor Relations, all you get is a recording, go to the operator),

The spokeswoman said that the annual report will be available in a couple of weeks (added my name to their mailing list), 1st quarter results will probably be late May, results of the Phase I's should be out in June, according to the spokeswoman the company still plans a press release about the PRO 2000 trial (I'll hold my judgment).
