Here's an interesting fact I didn't know.Sure is nice Novell has a vested interest in Corel.

In March, Netscape joined with Novell to announce Novonyx, a new company formed to adapt,integrate and sell the Netscape SuiteSpot family of server software on the Novell IntranetWare networking platform. Novell has the largest installed base of network servers in the world, with more than four million servers running the Novell network operating system.

Exhibit No 1: Corel Corp., the Ottawa developer of office software programs for the PC. At JavaOne it unveiled the world's first Java suite aimed at office workers. Corel Office for Java,now in beta testing, includes a Java version of WordPerfect, Corel Draw and several other applications.

But because Java is still relatively green, some features that most computer users would expect aren't available--such things as varying fonts and sophisticated graphics. Features on Corel's product are pared to the point that CEO Michael Cowpland said it's akin to a Windows 3.1 product. "Our goal is in 12 months to be at Win 95," Cowpland said.
