The portion of the LA Times story that I like with the IPO Palm,Inc. coming out in Feb:
Particularly promising is the size of the software, which
requires far less resident memory than earlier mediation
systems. The new software, on the other hand, is a
comparatively small file, which can fit into the memory of
small devices, such as Palm Pilots. That gives the software a
potentially huge market.
"The revolutionary thing that we have done is to produce
the software at such a small size, and made it even faster, so
that people can use it in small devices, such as the wireless
environment," according to Vertel president and chief
executive officer Bruce Brown.
