January 12, 2000 Washington, DC. - The Information Technology and Applications Office (ITAO) in the Advanced Technology Program, National Institute of Standards and Technology in the US Department of Commerce, announced that $50.7 Million is available for R&D funding to companies. They report that over $400 Million in funding in IT related awards have been granted in the past ten years. The suggested basic research and product development areas include Biometrics & Physical Security.
