I think he should be sent back. Not that taking one boy in to this country will make the boat sink. It is the human element, pure and simple. I don't understand the American public's attitude towards this issue. A lot of them have prejudged that their father is no good for the boy. His mother's divorce with the boy's father is not a case against the father's ability to take care of the child and care for him.

Yes, his mother lost her life in trying to bring him over here. That is not a reason enough for the father to be denied of the custody of the boy. INS is the most inhumane organization one can see, IMO. However, in this case, I think INS decision is the right one. (Gosh, I hate to give any credit to Slick! -g-)

What about the 15 or so Chinese who were smuggled in the container ship. They too witnessed the death of 3 of the fellow dreamers. They too are fleeing the communist regime. Will the janata rally behind them to take them in to fold? I bet they don't. Talk about double standards!
