This story is more than ten years old. Interdigital is a "patent" company that originally bought key patents for TDMA and from the beginning depicted CDMA as "in violation of the laws of physics." As Qualcomm's CDMA neared approval by standards bodies, Interdigital tried to create confusion in the market and prevent CDMA's acceptance by claiming that Qualcomm's CDMA was inferior to their own pure "wideband" CDMA. These patents have been around for nearly a decade and they are irrelevant.

And ...

11-Jan-00 Morgan Keegan (Kasargod, Ram) IDC
LONG TERM OUTLOOK UNCLEAR - DROPPING RESEARCH COVERAGE

"The company has not had a CEO since the departure of Mr. Gregory Webb (a former Vice President of Qualcomm who was appointed on 10/14/96) on 5/8/97. On 9/23/99 the company announced the resignation of its President Bill Doyle for personal reasons and the appointment of Mr. Howard Goldberg as Interim President. Dr. Gary Lomp, EVP & Chief Technology Officer also resigned as of 10/8/99."

And ....

Goldberg (the interim-President), being a lawyer, clearly states (in interviews the last few days), that for the next two years, Interdigital's revenues will be flat, and R&D expenses will go up.

In my opinion, this stock is all about: spin, hope, and day-trading. There are 50 million shares outstanding, you do the math on market cap. How long will day-traders stay with this stock if it does not go back up?
