Mowa, thanks.. I had infered what the article states. having in in black and white is what I prefer. Could you post the actual link? I have extensive experience in Wine like environments and still fully believe that Wine, Debian and the general strategic decisions being made by Corl are way off the mark. Corl has no Linux intelectual property and appears to just be trying to wrap older apps for Linux. Anyone who believes that Win2000 will not have major penetration is dreaming and Corl will have to work on updating apps for Win2000 API and maintain feature functionality in the Wine API. I wish them luck with that can or worms.

But this kind of code forking will create a bounteous source of bugs.

Oh, I do disagree with the statement that the Linux community did not understand Wine. The best and brightest of the Linux community just did not care as finding better Linux solution applications was not difficult for the best and brightest. Now as more and more port directly to Linux the less than best and brightest will also have a less difficult time in finding solution applications.

But the Debian Linux Cult's proactive non participation in access to RPM packages will cheat thousands from the opportunity of using what the Debian elite purest call the "unstable packages of non Debian distributions."

Now in this day of extremely limited access to the true information of the informed, (The internet is a passing fad) how long will it take for the stupid, dumb unwashed technically illiterate masses to figure this out.

Success in the world of Linux is success in the Open Source Meritocracy. How successful is Debian as a distribution percentage in this meritocracy???
