Hi Danielle. Nice to see someone else posting here.

The action of Monday and Tuesday certainly does look like some saw this coming. Buy the rumor, sell the news. Looks like that's what happened.
The press release hit the dow jones wire at 11:21. By 11:40, the price had moved up to 5 11/16, and back down to 4 5/8 . Looks like MMs moved the price up fast as they could, possibly shorting to buyers above 5.
[I was in the kitchen making coffee, and missed most of it!] =:-o

re: Why is the stock weak now? Weak??? Maybe from a daytrading perspective it was weak at the moment you made your post, but on the daily charts, CITI is not weak at all!
It moved up HUGE on Monday and Tuesday, and despite the "sell the news" mentality of so many, it was up *another* 7 1/2% again today.
From 3 3/16 close last Friday to 4 1/2 close today. My math says that's strong!

Forget that spike. It was exaggerated by MMs and doesn't really count, imo. Remove that 20 minutes of MM antics from the chart, and it's another great up day! [While I sure wish I'd traded some out 5 1/2 to rebuy 4 1/2, I'm quite content to hold.]

...Mezz - Don't forget, this news was unexpected. What *is* expected is the next acquisition. That could be the news that takes us over 6!
