>> There are many many ways to make money on gorillas and kings. IMO, simple LTB&H , while safe, regularly misses opportunities.

Not to be contentious, RhymingLady, but <gg>,

When I was a child, my parents taught me an important social skill,

Don't play with your food.

When I became an adult, my boss taught me an important rule of the workplace,

Don't s%^t where you eat.

When I became an investor, Mr. Market taught me an important rule,

Don't gamble with your investment capital.

You may feel that "simple" ltb&h misses many opportunities, but Mr. Market may have a few lessons in store for you. All investing, short or long term, involves some gaming theory, and I've been known to characterize the Market as a casino. But in my mind the difference is,

Short term investors are playing the slot machines.

Long term players own the casino.

Both take some degree of risk, but the odds are always in favor of the House.

jmho,
