The price drops on some of the b2b companies are looking significant. CMRC has now corrected more than 50% from its high.

An organization called The Boston Consulting Group issued a report in December that forecast some b2b growth numbers, such as these:

In 1998 US b2b e-commerce was $671 billion. Most of that number, $579B, was through EDI (electronic data interchange), which has been around for years, while just $92B was Internet-based transactions. By 2003 they expect one quarter of all b2b purchases to be handled through b2b e-commerce, for a total of $2.8 trillion. While EDI is projected to grow from the $579B mentioned above to $780B, the b2b Internet value is expected to grom from $92B to $2 trillion (thats a 20 times growth factor).

The two companies best position in this market appear to be CMRC and ARBA (pure plays), plus Oracle and perhaps SAP.

Does anyone following this sector see a buying opportunity here yet?
