GF, I see you work for AMD and are brandspeaking.
Well Intel and Athlon would like to have people very brand conscious, however the proliferation of boxes with esoteric names and of assorted chips has exhausted the average consumers tolerance for brands. Like gas they shop for the lowest price for a working unit and the brand they want ends in the term Mhz and the higher the better at the lowest price. In truth it makes no difference as the speeds of same MHZ systems are so close together that it needs special tests to tell them apart. As for same cost units? well AMD kicks but there as they sell faster ones for the same $$ or cheaper ones at the same speed.
That is why this high speed coppermine shortage is hurting Intel greatly and people are jumping ship for the Athlon at GTW et al.
