Barry, "My people perish for a lack of knowledge."
In I Corinthians we are told to " desire earnestly spiritual gifts"
We are almost told"least you be ignorant.

The gifts of the Spirit move as He wills not us...but it helps for us not to be ignorant and to desrired to have Him use them through us.

If you think the gift of the word of wisdom is God makes you smart then God's going to have to do a miracle to override your poor knowledge on that gift to use you.
It's not being smart.

I cannot expalin how the gifts happen and are misused.

i do know that people thought they knew Jesus and thoguht they prophecied and casted out devils in the name of Jesus.
in mat. Jesus says He never knew them.

Asking for things from God is not wrong...He knows your motives so that's all that counts.
Wanting to have gifts for a power trip will not work.
God sees the heart.. and motives.

it would be hard to convince me any of the gifts are not there.
But, that isn't our message.
My dreams of predections were gifts.....it protected me supernaturally.

I prease God for them.
