Bob,

Basically, I don't like TX chipset based motherboards for two reasons:

1) Intel has disabled TX chipset to cache over 64MB RAM.

2) 6x86 Linear burst mode and K6 "memory block (?) features are not supported on TX chipset.

The performance of Cyrix P200+ on mobo with SIS 5571 or 5597 chipset with linear burst enabled sit between a 6x86-150Mhz and 6x86-166Mhz on HX chip mobo.

T2P4 is for speed freaks who lust for the 83Mhz bus speed. ;-) I heard good things on Gigabyte 586S which uses SIS 5571 chipset, approved by Cyrix for P200+ and has 83Mhz bus speed. If I am going to buy a new socket 7 mobo, Gigabyte 586S will be my first choice.

I believe that M2-208Mhz running on 83Mhz bus speed with linear burst enable will outpeform a Pentium II 300Mhz. BTW, M2-166Mhz on 83Mhz bus speed SIS motherboard might run ZD business Winstone97 better than Pentium II 233Mhz too!

Have fun!
