AOL got the point early on, NSCP didn't. MSFT understood it, but the Feds got in the way. Yeah right. That's the reason MS had to give away IE. Check out this article. Step aside, Bill Gates archives.theglobeandmail.com; "I can buy 20 per cent of you or I can buy all of you," Mr. Gates told Mr. Case matter-of-factly. "Or, I can go into business myself and bury you." Instead, it was Mr. Case who became the dominant player in the Internet business, building AOL into the world's largest Internet provider. Gates screwed up somewhere. Maybe MS should have knocked off AOL and gave the service away for free. JMHO Mike
