Short covering usually drives the price up, not down. It increases demand on the buy side.

To Michael Kugler:

You mentioned in an earlier post about a 1.9 million share payment to a PR firm in return for their services. Was that the Liviakis firm? If it was, I'm told that they have less than a stellar reputation for dumping such shares (usually free trading - not restricted 144 stock) after the hype period ends. That might account for the short interest. Perhaps it's a knowledgeable broker or MM following their hype/dump reputation. I'm still long the stock. Just wondering.
